Seeking justice for her murdered mother from an oracle seems like a good idea, unless the oracle was a party to the murder.

Tale Bones by Janet Loftis

Born and raised in the Midwest, Janet fled to sunny California to escape the cold, dark winters, only to now explore the colder and darker sides of human nature in her horror and fantasy fiction. With a BA in Anthropology and Archaeology, and a MA combining Cultural Anthropology with Creative Writing, Janet’s stories are inspired by the mythos of cultures around the world. From science-fiction to fantasy to horror, and from short stories to screenplays, Janet has seen her fiction published in a variety of online and print magazines, and placed in the finals and semi-finals of screenplay competitions. Next on Janet’s agenda are more horror shorts, a horror screenplay, and the marketing of (believe it or not) a family-friendly screenplay!
Janet’s available story collections include Skin and Bones, Zombies and Aliens, Mother’s Day, and Gnomes & Aliens.

Contact Janet directly by emailing her, or visiting her blog.

There's a famous thought experiment which asks "What if reality is that we're actually just thoughts in a box?" What would that mean for freewill? What would be the implications for the concept of freedom?

The Last Days of Duane Dayton by J. J. Green

Fascinated by the unusual and unknown since childhood, J.J. Green first departed her homeland, the U.K., as a young adult, and has lived in Australia and Laos as well as her current abode, Taiwan. Her choice of writing genre reflects her interests and includes science fiction, fantasy, weird, dark and humorous tales.
Green’s work has been published in Lamplight, Perihelion, Saturday Night Reader and other magazines. Her novella, Death Switch, and two collections, There Comes a Time and Dawn Falcon, are available at Amazon. The first installment in her space adventure series, Space Detective, appears December 2015. Check out her meanderings at InfiniteBook and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
